 Mobilizing your Leadership Style

• Developed and led a 7-week online Career Group Course entitled Mobilizing Your Leadership Style for UCI undergraduate and graduate students.
• Maintained regular meetings with teaching assistant to review session details and presentations
• Created PowerPoint lectures on the various philosophies of leadership and pros/cons of leadership styles (Transformational, Servant, Autocratic and Laissez-faire)
• Infused active learning into all lectures including the embedding of videos and interactive tools
• Communicated weekly with follow-up e-mails with required reading and assigned exercises
• Surveyed students to ascertain their strengths and weaknesses, and maintained a detailed record of students’ attendance. Provided Certificate of Completion for eligible students.

• Created and Co-Taught innovative NEW course based on the best-selling self -development book “Designing Your Life: How To Build A Well-Lived Joyful Life” by Bill Burnett & Dave Evans
• Supported students in exploring the intersection between their interests, passions, and skills while exploring the influences on career decision making
• Covered topics such as Reframing and getting unstuck, Embracing change and understanding the connection between engagement and enjoyment, Designing your dream job, and Evaluating failures while building your way forward

Director, UCI Division of Career Pathways (DCP), July 2017 – 2024 (Retired)

(Formerly the UCI Career Center) Promoted to Director, June 2022

• As a member of the DCP Leadership Team, manage the Career Education Unit comprised of 8 career development professionals (2 Assistant Directors, 6 Career Counselors, 1 Grad Counselor)
• Introduced change leadership practices to counseling team, leading by example, and demonstrating the benefits of change as we became aligned with UCI’s Div. of Continuing Education (DCE)
• Provide individual career counseling to UC alumni & UCI students (1^st year through Master’s/PhD) 
• Liaison to Schools with STEM majors, presented career programming to UCI’s School of Nursing
• Integrated emerging trend topics (through facilitated discussions) into Career Education Team Meetings including A.I. and the Job Hunt, Hot Jobs in 2025, and the Power of Soft Skills.
• Created new workshops and arranged guest speakers on the following topics: advanced resume/cover letter, informational interviewing and networking using LinkedIn, professionalism, preparing for the career fair, crafting the “elevator pitch”, evaluating offers and salary negotiation

Senior Counseling Manager, UCLA Career Center, Sept. 2001 – July 2017

• Oversee the largest team in the Counseling Services area with 3 full-time, direct reports
• Coordinate counselor workflow in concert with three other Counseling Managers
• Assist the Director and Associate Director with short and long-range strategic planning
